Liturgical Press Wins First at Midwest Book Awards

Liturgical Press, Collegeville, won first place in the Religion/Philosophy category for its publication, Keys to the Council, at the 23rd Annual Midwest Book Awards. Winners were announced at a gala event on Wednesday evening, May 8, at the Bloomington Center for the Arts, Bloomington, Minnesota. The competition attracted 187 books, entered in 44 categories, from 75 publishers in the twelve-state Midwestern region. Some books were entered in more than one category—for a total of 308 entries.

The Midwest Book Awards are sponsored by the Midwest Independent Publishers Association, a non-profit professional association that serves the upper Midwest publishing community, advancing the understanding and appreciation of publishing production, promotion, and related technologies, professions, and trades. The association includes publishers, authors, editors, artists, designers, publicists, marketers, printers, distributors, and any others who contribute to the vitality of the publishing industry.

CLA’s Jerome Award presented to Dr. Barbara E. Reid, OP
Congratulations to Barbara Reid, OP, who has been awarded the prestigious Jerome Award by the Catholic Library Association. The award is given annually by the CLA "in recognition of outstanding contribution and commitment to excellence in scholarship which embody the ideals of the Catholic Library Association."

Dr. Reid is the author of several Liturgical Press books, including Abiding Word: Sunday Reflections for Year B; Choosing The Better Part?: Women in the Gospel of Luke; and The Gospel According to Matthew of the New Collegeville Bible Commentary series

Liturgical Press Announces Reorganization
Liturgical Press, the 85-year-old Catholic publishing house of Saint John’s Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota, announced the final stage of a reorganization that positions the company to respond more quickly to the needs of its customers and the fast changing technologies of publishing and communication.
