As a part of our celebration, we are releasing a Centennial Video Series which will explore the development and impact of Liturgical Press over the last 100 years, while looking forward to the future. Liturgical Renewal

What is the Liturgical Movement?

In 1926, Benedictine monk, Fr. Virgil Michel, OSB, founded Liturgical Press and through its founding, played a significant role in bringing the liturgical movement of Vatican II to the United States.

The early years of Liturgical Press shaped the Catholic Church’s liturgical renewal of the 1960s and inspired themes central to the Second Vatican Council, including the support of using the vernacular in the liturgy and encouraging the full, active participation of the laity in the life of the church.

Celebrating our Centennial

We are marking our centennial celebration with a special video series to be released throughout the year.
