Where Faith Finds Its Voice

TRADITION MEETS TOMORROW

For 100 years, Liturgical Press has carried the living voice of the Church forward—rooted in Benedictine wisdom and alive with hope for what’s next. Through every book, journal, digital publication, and online event, as well as through our popular daily prayer companion, Give Us This Day, we seek to bring a rich tradition into a lively conversation with tomorrow, to spring faith into action, and to open prayer into life.

As a part of our celebration, we are releasing a Centennial Video Series which will explore the development and impact of Liturgical Press over the last 100 years, while looking forward to the future. We are also launching an ambitious and exciting Anniversary Campaign which you can learn about below.

We invite you to watch the episodes, learn our story, and join us in ensuring that this vital work continues to flourish for the next 100 years.

EPISODE 1

Liturgical Renewal

What is the Liturgical Movement?

In 1926, Benedictine monk, Fr. Virgil Michel, OSB, founded Liturgical Press and through its founding, played a significant role in bringing the liturgical movement of Vatican II to the United States.

The early years of Liturgical Press shaped the Catholic Church’s liturgical renewal of the 1960s and inspired themes central to the Second Vatican Council, including the support of using the vernacular in the liturgy and encouraging the full, active participation of the laity in the life of the church.

Celebrating our Centennial

CARRYING THE TRADITION FORWARD

Since 1926, Liturgical Press has given voice to saints and scholars, seekers and dreamers, ordinary believers whose prayers shape extraordinary lives. Liturgical Press is a publishing ministry where every voice matters in the Body of Christ. To celebrate this milestone and prepare for the future, Liturgical Press has launched an ambitious Centennial Campaign. This campaign will strengthen our mission and ensure that our voice—and the voices we amplify—continue to inspire and sustain the people of God for generations to come.

A Campaign for the 100th Anniversary

The Centennial Campaign is the first step toward building an enduring foundation of philanthropic support for Liturgical Press. While much of our work is sustained by earned income, the realities of publishing and the evolving needs of the Church call for new forms of investment and partnership.
