About Little Rock Scripture Study

In 1974, lay members of the Diocese of Little Rock set about developing a simple but substantive Bible study program for local Catholics. At that time there were no national programs available for adult Catholics to study God’s Word together. Little Rock Scripture Study thus began as a small, local offering but has since grown into an international Bible study program.

In 1978, Little Rock Scripture Study became an official ministry of the Diocese of Little Rock, and in 1985, LRSS entered into partnership with Liturgical Press. The two organizations worked closely for thirty-four years, offering trustworthy and transformative Bible study resources from outstanding Catholic scholars.

In 2019, longtime partner Liturgical Press became the sole owner of Little Rock Scripture Study. Always proud of its Little Rock roots, the mission of Little Rock Scripture Study continues to be engaging Catholics with the living Word of God through prayerful, relevant, and solidly Catholic materials, including Bible studies, videos, a user-friendly Study Bible, and other resources intended for personal or group study and reflection. Little Rock Scripture Study remains committed to providing the tools Catholics need to better understand the Bible, grow in deeper relationship with Christ, and build stronger Christian communities.
