The Collegeville Psalter is a brand new responsorial psalm collection for Catholic worship, composed by one of today's most accomplished and inspiring composers. It faithfully follows the U.S. Lectionary text of the psalms and responses for the complete three-year cycle of Sundays and major feast days. It also includes settings of the "Common Texts" responsorial psalms.

The music is fresh and singable, with memorable responses for the assembly, fresh tones for the cantor, and engaging accompaniments for organ or keyboard. Psalms with different refrains or sets of verses use the same or related musical material for ease of learning. An important new resource, The Collegeville Psalter serves well either as a stand-alone parish psalter or as a fine addition to any existing liturgical music program.

Paul Inwood is an internationally-known liturgist, composer, organist, author and speaker, whose work is to be found in hymn books across the English-speaking world. He has been honored by the National Association of Pastoral Ministers as Pastoral Musician of the Year (2009), and in 2015 was the winner of a Vatican competition for an official Hymn for the Holy Year of Mercy (Misericordes sicut Pater), which has been sung in many languages around the world. Paul's experience ranges from parish to cathedral- and diocesan-level positions.

Reviews

The Collegeville Psalter would be a welcome addition to any pastoral musician's library. This new resource will help the praying Church in its role of proclaiming God's Word.
