Preaching, Teaching and the New Evangelization

Cardinal Wuerl identifies four qualities required for the homilist in the context of the New Evangelization: boldness, connectedness to the church, a sense of urgency, and joy. He reminds us that each person is privileged to be called, and, in the context of the church, to be empowered to be a witness today to the risen Lord. It is our Catholic faith that we proclaim with renewed adherence, awakened conviction, and great joy.
